As members of the Society of Cannabis Clinicians, we support and follow scientific trends and research into cannabis treatments and efficacy. Here is some current, fascinating research:

Cannabis for Alzheimer’s disease:

While we can’t reverse or stop the progression of Alzhiemer’s disease, cannabis can alleviate the many symptoms of this disease. Current methods for treatment are generally focused on slowing or stopping the progression of the brain’s neuron’s plaques and tangles. Cannabis has long been investigated for its neuroprotective and anti-inflammatory properties and can slow or stop the degenerative process. Cannabis and Autism:

Many therapies are ineffective against symptoms experienced due to autism spectrum disorder such as fidgeting, anxiety, overstimulation, sensory processing disorder, and hyperactivity. Psychotropic meds can fall short and have unwanted side effects. Here are some parents’ experiences of using cannabis for autism and med side effects: https://www.cannabisclinicians.org/2021/10/20/mothers-give-insight-on-navigating-medical-cannabis-for-their-children-with-autism/

Animals and Cannabis:

Our endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a widespread neuromodulatory system that plays important roles in our central nervous system development, synaptic plasticity, and many other functions. All mammals have endocannabinoid systems that may benefit from the medicinal properties of cannabis. Our vet-approved products have reduced our pets’ anxiety, pain, discomfort, hyperactivity and many other symptoms. Read the research here: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6770351/

Cannabis as an alternative to Opioids:

Cannabis has been shown to diminish prescription opioid use and is a helpful adjunct therapy to lower chronic opioid use in many patients. https://www.liebertpub.com/doi/full/10.1089/can.2019.0039
